Only administrators can set up projects. Every web user can view reports grouped by project.

A project can be a customer order, a several-week activity, an invoice number or another time-bound event. One project can contain many reports.

## Turn on projects

While the feature is off, **Projects** is in the **Inactive** part of the main menu.

1. Open the main menu, expand **Projects** and choose **Manage Projects**.
2. Click **Activate Projects functionality**. Venzeo™ shows **Successfully saved** and reloads the page. Attaching a project to a report is now optional.
3. Optional: under **Projects are:**, choose **Required** so that every report needs a project.

To turn the feature off, choose **Disable Projects** and confirm with **Deactivate**.

## Add a project

1. Open the main menu, expand **Projects** and choose **Manage Projects**.
2. Click **Create new Project**. The **New Project** pop-up opens.
3. Optional: fill in **Custom Project ID**, the ID you use in other systems, such as an order number. Leave it empty and Venzeo generates one. It must be unique in your organisation.
4. Fill in **Name**, what reporters pick in the mobile app. Keep it short.
5. Optional: fill in **Note**, for example the scope of the work. Reporters see it in the mobile app.
6. Set when reporters can pick the project: keep **Permanent** on for a project with no end date, or turn it off and set **From** and **To**.
7. Click **Save**. The pop-up closes, Venzeo shows **Successfully added** and the project appears in the list.

The **Status** column shows whether a project is **Future**, **Ongoing** or **Past**.

## Edit a project

1. Open the main menu, expand **Projects** and choose **Manage Projects**.
2. Click **Edit** next to the project.
3. Change the fields and click **Save**. Venzeo shows **Successfully saved**.

To reopen a project that has ended, set a later **To** date or turn on **Permanent**.

## Deactivate a project

Deactivating ends the project today: its status changes to **Past** and it disappears from the mobile app. Existing reports keep the project, and you can still filter reports by it.

1. Open the main menu, expand **Projects** and choose **Manage Projects**.
2. Click **Edit** next to the project.
3. In the pop-up, click **Deactivate** and confirm with **Yes**. Venzeo shows **Successfully deactivated**.

## Projects in reports

Reporters attach one of the ongoing projects to each report in the mobile app, by picking it from the list or scanning a QR code that contains the project's custom ID. To see reports grouped by project, open the main menu and choose **Project View** under **Reports**.
