A construction site changes every day, and most of that work is covered up a week later. Without dated photos per site, nobody can show what was built when, who reported a defect or whether the barriers stood in place.
Make each construction site a project
Create a project for each site or contract, with your contract number as the custom ID. Set From and To dates for the contract, or mark the project as permanent. Your team attaches the project to every report, so the project’s reports become the photo diary of that site. Projects can also arrive from your planning system through the Venzeo™ API. See Grouping reports by project.
Example: before the ceiling is closed, the site manager photographs the pipes and wiring in each room and attaches the project of that building.
Tag progress, defects, deliveries and safety
Let your team pick tags (previously called types) instead of typing notes. Useful categories are work stage, defect type and site safety, with tags such as Progress, Defect, Delivery, Damaged material and Barrier missing. The office then filters one site by defect or delivery. See Adding and editing tags (types) for reports.
Follow every defect until it is fixed
Use statuses for the snag list, for example Open, Fixed and Checked. The site manager sets Fixed when the subcontractor reports the repair, and Checked after the final inspection. The status history shows when each status was set. See Tracking report progress with statuses.
Ask subcontractors for proof by SMS
Subcontractors often have no Venzeo™ account. Send them a Venzeo™ Request with photo steps, for example “Photograph the finished insulation” and “Photograph the cleaned work area”. Their answer comes back as a certified report with a signature. See Requesting photos from someone outside your team by SMS.
